Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Guiding
The field of psychedelic therapy is rapidly becoming recognized as an invaluable tool for our own healing and transformation. We are seeing promising and rapid relief for suffering previously very difficult to alleviate, even with years of more traditional therapeutic methods. These psychedelic experiences help to reconnect the parts that have been lost, hurt, or pushed away, and reintegrate them back into wholeness. It's profound and life-changing "work."
I believe the psychedelic revolution is upon us because we all crave deep healing. In such times of uncertainty and perceived turmoil, we are being forced to face ourselves - face our shadows in hopes of living a more conscious life. Psychedelics catapult us into our inner world, our very souls become visible, and we can observe our inner workings and understand the inherent capacity to heal that we all have within us. When one mentions a psychedelic journey, oftentimes plant medicines and fungi come to mind that are currently illegal (this is changing as we speak). Many people, including myself before I went through training, disregard Cannabis as a psychedelic. Many compare their experience to DMT, LSD, or ayahuasca....she is absolutely a psychedelic plant medicine.
Cannabis Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) is a cutting-edge modality developed by Daniel McQueen of @medicinalmindfulness, which integrates mindfulness-based practices in these potent transpersonal spaces. Cannabis offers a unique opportunity to maintain agency while navigating this unconscious territory, enabling the journeyer to be in control of where they would like to go and heal at their own pace, rather than just being blasted into outer space. Don't get me wrong, sometimes we need to transcend our resistant and protective egos, but that may not be for everyone at this moment. Cannabis is a somatic psychedelic (perhaps from the CB1+CB2 receptors we have located all throughout our bodies), meaning it is experienced in the body as well as the mind. We unconsciously hold so much tension and trauma in our bodies and this matriarch of plant medicines assists us in releasing stuck JUNK - junk that's holding us back and causing us to act out in very unconscious manners.
