Are We Living in a Simulation? And What If That’s Actually… Kind of Beautiful?

I recently watched a clip of Neil deGrasse Tyson discussing the genuine possibility that we might be living in a simulation. Although I've encountered this theory before, I hadn't given it much thought. However, with AI becoming more integrated into our everyday lives, I've started pondering this question: What if this world isn’t what it seems? Like, what if it’s all a simulation?
I know—it sounds like a late-night stoner thought or something out of The Matrix. But hang with me. Some of the most brilliant minds (and some of the most deeply intuitive souls) are starting to say… it might be true. And even if it’s not literally “true,” entertaining the possibility opens up a whole new way of dancing with life.
Because whether it’s quantum physics or ancient mysticism, the message seems to echo:
“This world is not the ultimate reality. It’s a beautifully designed illusion.”
Or maybe… a training ground. A dream. A divine video game.
And our souls? They're the ones behind the controller.
Psychedelics and Breathwork: Glitching the Matrix
The first time I did a deep psychedelic journey with cannabis and breath, it was like reality turned itself inside out. My body dissolved, my stories crumbled, and I felt like I had zipped up out of the program to meet something far greater—a pulsing, intelligent, loving presence behind the scenes.
These altered states are not just wild trips. They’re tools. Tools to glitch the simulation, peel back the veil, and remind us: “Hey babe… you’re more than you think. And this world is way more mysterious than you’ve been told.”
Every breathwork ceremony I facilitate becomes a doorway—where grief, old trauma, laughter, and radiant joy can rush in like downloads. In these states, people remember things they didn’t know they forgot. They meet their inner child, their future self, their guides… and sometimes, they even meet the code itself.
The point isn’t to escape the game. It’s to get better at playing it.
The Soul Is the Player, the Body Is the Avatar
What if we’re here, not to master capitalism or rack up achievements, but to remember who we really are underneath the programming?
Imagine Earth as a multiplayer game—equal parts intense and awe-inspiring. Some levels are hard as hell. Some are breathtakingly beautiful. But all of them are invitations. To grow. To love. To evolve. To support others on the path.
Psychedelics and breathwork have shown me that when we zoom out far enough, even the pain starts to make sense. The heartbreaks, the confusion, the weird cosmic jokes… they’re all part of the curriculum. And just like in a dream, when we know we’re dreaming, we gain agency. We become lucid.
So How Do We Play This Game Well?
We wake up.
We breathe deeper.
We start listening to the inner compass instead of the outer noise.
We treat our relationships like sacred mirrors. We trust our bodies as wise guides. We create art, dance barefoot, grieve fully, and take ridiculous leaps of faith. We laugh a little more when things go sideways, knowing there’s probably a plot twist around the corner.
And maybe we ask ourselves:
What’s my mission in this level of the game?
Who do I want to be as I move through this illusion?
How can I rewrite parts of the code with my presence, my love, my creativity?
Final Thought
If this world is a simulation, it’s the most intricate, gorgeous, emotionally wild simulation I could imagine. And if we’re here to evolve our souls through it, then every breath, every tear, every song, every sister circle, every cannabis-activated heart explosion matters.
You’re not stuck. You’re just playing a hard level.Take a breath. Remember your why. Call in your allies. You’ve got this.
